Making Undergarments

  • The Stitchery 24 Sandyford Place Glasgow, G3 9SS United Kingdom (map)

8-week course // Mondays, 6:30-9pm // £225 (including pattern) // Level: Growing Beginner // Instructor: Hazel Lethaby of Mischke Lingerie // Project: The Watson Bra & Pants

Be comfortable. Be Confident. Be Yourself. Learn to make your own well fitting underwear with a domestic sewing machine or overlocker.

If it ever seems wholly impossible to find a bra or pants that fit well, then here's a chance to right this grievous wrong. This course is a step-by-step guide on how to make a comfortable set of undergarments, using your domestic sewing machine or overlocker.

In the safe hands of our expert, Hazel Lethaby, students will be introduced to the use of stretch fabrics and learn to use them to their maximum potential, creating undergarments that fit your curves as they should. Learn to personalise the The Watson Bra & Pants, adjusting the strap length, altering the bridge and fitting the cups to your own unique shape.

And if you're shy, don't worry: We've now got a changing room at The Stitchery, where you'll be able to do your fitting in private.

Please note that this course is a Growing Beginner course, which means that you must have at least a basic level of garment construction experience, having made at least one garment. If you've got a couple of projects under your belt, that will probably stand you in good stead. If you've never made an item of clothing before, but wish to take this course, you may consider first having some private tuition or taking a Making Clothes for Beginners course.

(Also, note there will be no class on October 31st, Halloween)

Some undergarments made by our students!
