Dressmaking for Beginners

Making your own clothing is all about being true to yourself: choosing your own fabric, fitting it to your own unique body, and customising it in your own unique way. And if you're tired of wearing generic, ill-fitting hi-street clothes, that never seems to last, then our beginners dressmaking course

this course might just be your opportunity to break from the herd.

Over a span of 5 weeks you will be introduced to the basics of dressmaking: how to use a sewing machine, using a flat pattern, basic stitches and seams, and foundational sewing techniques. As you progress you'll be applying your new found skills to making your very own summer separate: either the Chardon Skirt orChataigne Shorts by Deer & Doe.

This course is open to complete beginners and experienced sewers alike. And don't worry, you don't need to bring a sewing machine, as we have plenty at our studio
